The respected science Journal recently published an article on the toxic nature of the Fluoroquinolones. The article entitled “When antibiotics turn toxic Commonly prescribed drugs called fluoroquinolones cause rare, disabling side effects. Researchers are struggling to work out why,” was published on March 21, 2018, see link below.
I am very thankful to those who worked with Nature to produce this well written article. Nature, the International Journal of Science at Nature.com, is a well respected journal and will garner some much needed attention. Although there are a few drawbacks such as the repeated use of the word “rare” when discussing adverse events from the FQ’s, it is still promising that such a prestigious journal covered the plight of the FQ’s in the first place.
I am also humbled that My Quin Story was referenced along with briefly mentioning my personal FQAD case when discussing Dr. Beatrice Golomb UCSD’s research into FQAD, let’s hope this opens some more doorways for research and awareness.
Thanks for all your hard work, David. This is an excellent article except for the use of the word rare. Fortunately we have been blowing up their facebook page for several days now as hundreds of us tell our horror stories and share important links. We are finally starting to see more and more media attention. I think we are on the brink of an explosion of activity and HUGE numbers of new members in the FQ community. Hang on, the ride is about to get even wilder!
I agree with you Mark. I see it happening before my eyes too. We (who have been floxed) may be ruined, but we can get these meds off the shelves or severely limited if we keep up the good fight! 👊
